Juan Pablo Arias Muñoz is a Chilean filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. He is a Fulbright Scholarship Award recipient and an American Film Institute Conservatory Fellow in the Directing discipline.
He has written and directed several short films - His work has been presented at the New York Film Festival, the Stockholm Film Festival, the Seattle International Film Festival and the Screamfest Horror Film Festival among many other international events.
His latest work, the horror/drama short film HOMBRE won Juan Pablo the “Best Director” award at the Insólito Festival de Cine de Terror y Fantasía (Perú). The short film was also awarded "Best Iberoamerican Short Film" at Elche's Independent Film Festival (Spain), and won the "Prix Courtoujours" at the 30es Cinélatino, Rencontres de Toulouse (France).
