Juan Pablo Arias Muñoz is a Chilean writer-director who draws upon fantastical storytelling and magical realism from his Latin American heritage to create emotional and thought-provoking films. His award-winning work has been exhibited at over sixty film festivals around the world including the New York Film Festival, AFI Fest and SITGES Fantastic Film Festival.

He has received support from the HBOAccess Directing Fellowship, PGA Create, the BMP Breakthrough Artist Program, the National Association of Latino Independent Producers and the Fulbright Scholarship, one of the most widely recognized and prestigious programs in the world. He was director shadow during the second season of HBO’s PERRY MASON and Amazon’s upcoming CROSS series.

His debut feature PUMPKINHOLE is available for streaming on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video. He’s currently in post production of his second feature film WHAT SHE DOESN’T KNOW and is in development for a reimagining of the classic REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE with Warner Bros Pictures that will premiere on MAX during 2024.

Juan Pablo received an MFA in Directing from the AFI Conservatory.
